Question 4 Social Media

I used a number of different platforms to communicate my work with my tutor and group members. Twitter links provided a daily update and links to the blog which could be accessed by my tutor. It was a quick and easy way to cummincate and grab feedback for all parts of my coursework.

This way of communication is referring to Gauntlett Media 2.0, I became the producer of my own work which I published and share with my demographic audience. I was able to post my own messages and videos with the influence of a concentrated media ownership. My information that was being portrayed created User Generated Content and the audience could therefore take what they saw as a simple piece of text that was seen for what it was.

- Hints of wealth: clothes, car for example                                         

- Tv interests such as Gossip Girl and Made in Chelsea 

I created a moodboard for my audience demographic showing features of what my target audience would either own or show interest in. The images I hope reflect the type of brand indentity my media product is aiming for.                

The Planning Process

These are our storyboards we created prior to the filming day, organisation was key as we had limited time to get all the nessecary shots in order to make the trailer run smoothly during the editing process.

 These are the scripts wrote on planning day so we could catch the one lines needed for the trailer. We needed to emphasise the lines and these would indicate the main storylines of the series.

We wrote a list of the conventional storylines used in soaps to attrach my demographic. Doing this gave us a range of what storylines to explore and gave us freedom to link stoylines together when filming.

As seen in Question 1 we planned costumes because we wanted to add extra meaning to the roles portrayed. We wanted the colour of the costume to reflect the characters feelings:
Natalie wore black showing mystery and the idea of a hidden identity
Becky wore red showing danger linking to the character that she was a cheat
Jack wore grey as he was a dark character too portraying deception
Holly wore green for envy
Megan wore white as she represented the victim to her boyfriend
Josh wore a hoody to represent suspicion
We also carefully chose character names as we wanted to create class so went with the theme of jewellry, however we wanted to create a parody with these. The names we decided on were:
Sierra, Crystal, Sapphire, Thomas, Sabbo and Pandora.

The lyrics that are highlighted are ones I choice to use on my title cards as I believe that they are subtle hints of what the storylines are suggesting in the soap. The melody and feel of the music is downhearted and I feel it gave an indication to the audience of how to feel towards the trailer and the characters involved. These songs that are full of emotion and messages about teenage issues such as Break ups are also heard on trailers to the soap I am paraodying Made In Chelsea.

The text 'will it be a happy ending' relates to the the picture significantly, the wedding image is being referred to and as the characters look happy it indicates to the audience that there is some trouble about to emerge.
The later time of 10 o clock indicates a certain audience, indicating that the storylines will involve more Adult relations that the earlier programme
